Tom Gates

by Liz Pichon

Tom Gates, a student known for excuses, doodles, and comic writing, keeps a battered homework diary filled with his sketches, stories, and comments from his teacher Mr. Fullerman. The diary records humorous moments such as his worst holiday, described as “camping sucks,” and a parents’ evening that elicits a groan. The book’s format and content invite readers to laugh at Tom’s antics.
