Patsy Mink, Mother of Title 9
US Representative Patsy Mink (1927-2002) is known as the ¿Mother of Title 9¿. She helped write the law that gave equal federal dollars to women and girls in education and sports. Born in Hawaii, she was the first ¿Woman of Color¿ elected to the House or Senate.
