Bored - Nothing to Do!

by Peter Spier

More pictured mischief from busy kids, in the sunny manner of Oh, Were They Ever Happy! But this project soon takes off from even the farthest-fetched reality when two brothers-sent outdoors to "Do something! I was never bored at your age" (Mom)-find a propeller in the barn and set about constructing an incredibly impressive airplane. It flies, and the boys have a grand time aloft; for readers, the fun comes from watching them gather up wheels (from the baby's carriage), hinges (off comes a door in the house), cloth (Ma's bedsheets), motor (from Dad's VW), etc.-and then putting everything back after their parents get over the shock of their landing.
