The Disciplined Trader
Mark Douglas argues that most traders fail for psychological reasons rather than analytical ones. The book separates the mechanical work of finding a trade from the mental discipline of executing it, and spends most of its length on fear, greed, and the way a trader's beliefs distort what the market is actually showing. Published in 1990, it became one of the standard texts on trading psychology and set up his later book Trading in the Zone. Written for someone who already knows the mechanics and keeps losing anyway.
