Calvin and Hobbes Lazy Sunday Book
A collection of the Sunday Calvin and Hobbes strips, which is the format where Watterson had the most room to work: full pages, colour, and space for the imaginary sequences to run. Calvin is six, Hobbes is his tiger and is either stuffed or not depending on who is looking, and the strip moves between suburban childhood and dinosaurs, spaceships and long conversations about mortality conducted from a wagon going downhill. Watterson ended the strip in 1995 and has never licensed the characters, which is part of why it has aged so well.
