Seed
Seed is Ania Ahlborn's debut novel, a piece of Southern horror published in 2011. It follows a man who believed he had left a childhood evil behind on the Louisiana backroads, only to feel it stir again when something in his young daughter begins to change. The book leans on dread and family strain more than gore, tracing how far a father will go to protect his household and how much of his past he is willing to admit. It reads quickly, with a claustrophobic sense that the thing chasing him was never really gone.
