YS: Magical city shrouded in lengend, ruled by her Nine priestesses, her gods, and her King. When Gratillonius, a Roman prefect in the service of the emperor, journeys to YS, he is tricked by the Nine into defeating the King in armed combat--not realizing that this deed will make his not only the new King--but the last King--doomed betrayal by Rome, his daughter, and his gods.
