American History: The Latin Remix
Latin History is American History. But it’s not always easy to get the truth behind the lessons. What began as a true story of John Leguizamo and his son experiencing bullying and erasure in middle school turned into a one-man show that Leguizamo performed on Broadway and around the United States for six years. And now, with the help of co-writer Dave Roman, artist Ronnie Vazquez, and colorist Kelly Fitzpatrick, that story’s being brought to this original graphic novel: AMERICAN HISTORY: THE LATIN REMIX, bringing the collective experiences of Latin History to life for readers of every background. Readers will get a crash course through not only the various facts, stories, and truths that aren’t always shared in American History classes, and will also get a bombastic, comedic and honest discussion of what it does to people of all ages when they’re told their history doesn’t exist, and what it does to people when they’re told their history doesn’t matter as much as someone else’s.
