In World War II, an American agent sent to kill Hitler matches wits with the German detective assigned to catch him. The American is Jack Cray of the OSS, while his pursuer is ace detective Otto Dietrich, released from jail for the job. Dietrich was arrested because his brother was a conspirator in a plot to kill Hitler.
