Asterix and the Great Crossing
The twenty-second album in the Asterix series, written by Rene Goscinny and drawn by Albert Uderzo. Setting out to catch fresh fish, Asterix and Obelix get lost at sea and wash up in North America, long before Columbus, where they meet a Native American tribe and later a band of Vikings. It has the usual mix of visual gags, puns, and gentle historical spoofery the series is known for. At forty-eight pages it is a quick, funny read, and a good pick for a club that wants something light and all-ages.
