Pavilion of Women
When she turns forty, Madame Wu informs her husband that their marital relationship has ended after twenty-four years and requests he marry a second wife. The Wu family, a prominent Chinese lineage, is shocked by the announcement. Madame Wu then arranges for a young rural woman to become his new partner.
