Sweet Valley Middle School is going camping! Elizabeth Wakefield can't wait to swim in the lake, sleep in a tent, and roast marshmallows over a campfire. Best of all, the wilderness provides the perfect setting for a little romance with her sort-of boyfriend, Todd Wilkins. Romance is also in the air for Elizabeth's identical twin, Jessica Wakefield. She has her eye on Dennis Asher, a cute seventh-grader who's new at school. But Jessica can't survive without a blow-dryer--how can she impress Dennis when she looks so terrible? Jessica comes up with a brilliant scheme. She pushes her twin (who somehow manages to look great while roughing it) on Dennis, telling him Elizabeth is Jessica! Todd is very confused, and Elizabeth is furious. Elizabeth fights back...by making sure that Jessica's plan works a little too well.
