The New Left
A collection of Ayn Rand's essays attacking the 1960s student movements and what she called the anti-industrial revolution, later expanded and republished as Return of the Primitive. Writing from her Objectivist position, she takes aim at campus radicalism, environmentalism, and what she saw as a revolt against reason and technology. It is polemical nonfiction, closer to cultural criticism than formal philosophy, and reads as a period document of that era's culture wars. Best for a club that wants to argue: Rand's tone is combative and her targets are specific.
