After the Great Plague. . .a bold new world of fantastic creatures, mutated landscapes, heroes and villians. A kidnapping by bloodthirsty raiders off the coast of New Portland sets in motion a warrior-woman's determined quest to rescue her son. Her unlikely allies include two fierce pet bearfoxes, a grizzled wilderness scout, and one of the fabled monkey-men, a Macaques, who now serves civilization.
