Cast out of the Clan that is all she has ever known, Ayla, a Cro-Magnon woman raised by Neanderthals, ventures forth alone into a strange world. Resourceful and inventive, Ayla is able to craft a comfortable life for herself, but her loneliness and longing for the family she once knew is almost unbearable.
