Tamly is kidnapped and the brothers try to force him to help them raise their ancestor, Shardax. Tempting him with promises to give him magical abilities and even raise his parents from the dead they eventually blackmail him into doing what they want. Then Tamly must summon all of his courage to face his ultimate enemy with no magic at all.
