Treacherous mission

by Denise Noel

Fear drove her on -- a life was at stake! Breathlessly Beth stumbled through the rainy night toward the rendezvous point. This was her last chance to lift the shroud of secrecy from her husband's disappearance, and the cold voice on the phone had warned her not to be late. Ahead of her sat the ghostly shape of an abandoned car. Suddenly both headlights flared on, blinding her. Hands seized her and a scarf was stuffed into her mouth as a gag. Terrified, she felt herself being lifted off the ground. She was being kidnapped!
