Guardian Angel
V.I. Warshawski is back and despite her very best intenions is embroiled in a case by her downstairs neigbour, Mr Contreras. Peppy, the Golden Retriever they share, has an unplanned family with a black Labrador from up the street. Worries about his old pal, Mitch Kruger, take Mr Contreras away from the puppies. Mitch, an old co-worker from Diamond Head Motors has disappeared. When his body is found in a chicago canal, Mr Contreras is convinced Mitch was murdered and hires V.I. to investigate.
