Tonker and Minnie Cassands' garden party proceeds as planned, even after the death of the eccentric Mr. William Faraday. But after a second death, of a tax inspector that wasn't very well-liked, the Cassands still intend to carry on with their party. Albert Campion notices, however, that all the fuss surrounding the festivities provides perfect cover for more sinister activities.
