The Farm Fires

by Laurie Loveman

When someone starts setting fires, blame falls on financially troubled local farmers who are facing foreclosure. Laura Darvey’s recently divorced friend, Glynis Hampton, returns to Woodhill to her parent’s dairy farm. The remains of a murdered man found bludgeoned to death in the basement of a torched abandoned house, and the later tragic death of a child in another arson fire, spur Jake and his fire inspector, Freddy Pratter, to frantically track down clues to the killer/arsonist’s identity. They come to the cruel realization that the killer could be someone very close to Glynis, leading to a showdown and a gigantic barn fire.
