She writes and teaches in Storrs, Connecticut, where she lives with her husband and three children. She has been interested in American Sign Language for many years, and is grateful to the American School for the Deaf and the Connecticut Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired for their assistance with her background research for this novel.
