On a Clear Day
Ian McPherson was brought up in housing estate in Glasgow, and from the vantage point of a soul struggling to fit in this was an experience of wonder and terror combined. From his earliest years Ian struggled to feel connected to others and the world of people. He often found some solace in nature, but found the social rules and normalised madness of society and personal relations confusing and chaotic. This led to Ian's own descent into chaotic thinking and emotional frustrations which he found difficult and even impossible to express clearly. This is a short biography taken from Ian's own words and sharing of personal experience about the treacherous journey through the mind and madness, our own and others. Ian's disconnected sense of Self and the simple longing to be seen, heard and accepted propelled him into many dark places, including psychiatric wards and prison. This is his story of searching and discovering, amidst the daily angst of being human, the life that we have in the here and now, and finding some hope, faith and kindness to navigate the stormy sea of the psyche and society.
