The Areas of My Expertise
John Hodgman's book of invented facts, presented as a complete world almanac. It includes seven hundred hobo names, instructions for predicting the weather, a table of eels, and a great deal of confidently delivered nonsense laid out exactly like a reference work. Hodgman read it on The Daily Show and radio, and the deadpan is the whole joke: nothing signals that it is fake except that all of it is. First of a trilogy.
