About the Author Mark is a scuba diving instructor and marine ecologist with a masters degree from the University of Plymouth, UK. He has worked around the globe on whale shark conservation projects and as a scuba instructor. In September of 2017 on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin he found himself directly in the path of hurricane Irma. After surviving when he truly believed he would not he was compelled to write his memoir and Irma: Life Lessons from the Worst Storm in Atlantic History is the result.
