Art Psalms
The power of art as a transformative path is the theme of this inspiring collection from internationally renowned artist Alex Grey. Art Psalms combines poems, artwork, and "mystic rants" that fuse imagination, creativity, and spirituality. Grey's oracular poetry declares that art, both its creation and its observation, can be a spiritual practice. Many of these writings have been shared at gatherings worldwide, especially at Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, New York City (2004-9) and now in it's wooded, tranquil setting in the Hudson Valley, a contemporarysacred space co-founded by Alex Grey & Allyson Grey. Selections in this volume include "Soul Marriage," inviting personal and global transformation; "Guidance for Servants of God," precepts for life as a sacred path; "The Plan," aligning universal and individual creativity; Grey's spoken word performance, "WorldSpirit"; plus annotated portfolios, "Meditations on the Divine Feminine," "Meditations on the Masters," and "Meditations on Mortality," connecting drawing and contemplation as ways of seeing.A source of inspiration for art lovers, for health and spiritual communities, and for all creative seekers. Art Psalms features over 150 reproductions of drawings and paintings to enrich and awaken the inner artist in each of us.
