MAiD in NY 2019 The Secret of Hegisias

Eliminating both the predictive mortality requirement of six-months; and by extension the necessity of being diagnosed with a terminal physical illness would be more ethical - because it promotes justice, individual autonomy and may reduce the suffering of these persons, their loved ones and family as well. I will argue that severe treatment-resistant neurological diseases, which often cause immense suffering, but have a predictive mortality rate of years, not months - require we consider them seriously in NY MAiD.
