Astronomy Observations and Imaging Log Book
Produced in full color. Available in softback and hardback. The Hardback version is better suited to outdoor use. An astronomy observation and imaging logbook designed specifically for the intermediate and advanced amateur astronomer. There is something awe-inspiring about looking up into a clear, star-filled sky. The beauty of the heavens seen from a dark location, away from the ever-encroaching suburban streetlights is a sight to behold. Astronomy truly is a fascinating subject. It is, quite simply, the science of everything. It encompasses the Universe in its entirety; from the minuscule to the infinite. No other science is so grand and so encompassing. With such a holistic science as astronomy, it is easy to feel daunted not only by the vastness of space but by the complexity of the physics involved; it can be a steep learning curve! The purpose of the Astronomy Observations and Imaging Logbook is to produce a detailed record of your sessions spent at the eyepiece or computer screen. The logbook uses a double page format for each entry to record details such at object, equipment, field of view, imaging and auto-guiding settings as well at ample space for notes and sketches. With one hundred numbered entries which can be cross-referenced to individual targets you will be able to monitor targets over time. As well as 100 double paged log entries, there is space for supplementary notes and sketched. Again, these are numbered to allow for additional cross-referencing if required. To assist in session planning, details of the entire Messier and Caldwell catalogues are included, giving invaluable information on each object such as R.A. and Dec coordinates, magnitude and apparent size. Again, these can each be cross-referenced to log entries Furthermore, data on each of the 88 constellations is provided to give details on latitudes of visibility, bright stars, clusters, galaxies and nebula within each. A moon map is also provided, together with observing times for several major craters. As well as recording details of your own equipment (telescope, mount, CCD, eyepieces, filters etc.), additional data is provided such as useful mathematical formulas, planetary data, meteor storm dates and astronomical constants. There is a lot to study and image above our heads. This book will help you record your observations.
