Lady Barbara Saunders -- or Lady Bee as the saucy minx was affectionately called -- could only regard Lord John Connwood and sigh. Such a fine man... yet promised to another. Yet she couldn't stand by and watch him marry for convenience a lady she suspected of dubious virtue.
