Big Nate Lives It Up
The seventh illustrated novel in Lincoln Peirce's Big Nate series, spun off from his long-running comic strip. The books follow Nate Wright, a wisecracking, self-confident sixth-grader who is convinced he is destined for greatness while regularly landing in detention. Peirce mixes prose with cartoon panels and Nate's own doodles, so the pages are heavily illustrated. Aimed at middle-grade readers, the series leans on school scenarios, friendships, and Nate's running feuds with teachers and rivals, and this entry continues that formula. Readers new to the character can pick it up without having read the earlier volumes.
