The Sugar house

by Christine Flynn

The Sugar House is Pat Hull's first collection of printed poems. The works sprang out of a tenderness brought to light by his new roles as a father, husband, and educator. His poems capture a sensitivity in relationships that can read as humorous, poignant, and tragic. This year, Pat experienced a brain hemorrhage that almost ended his life. He left the ICU in time to see his first daughter being born at home. He has endured the daily struggles of type-1 diabetes since the age of thirteen. Suffering is his greatest teacher and this collection of poetry is a creation out of darkness.
