The Heroic Age in Sinnar
The Funji kingdom in Sinnar was the last of a long line of kingdoms centred in the Nile valley, Sudan. Over the course of a century, the old social order disintegrated and the new partisans who came to dominate affairs could neither restore peace nor prevent the annexing of the kingdom to Egypt in 1821.
