Nations négres et culture

by Cheikh Anta Diop

The book traces the origins of early human ancestors in Africa, noting their black skin and their settlement along the Nile Valley, where they established the ancient Nubian Egyptian civilization. It examines the 1954 publication by a Senegalese historian that challenged prevailing views, and the subsequent criticism from the international scientific community, which at the time still framed Africa as a model of civilizational backwardness and the creators of ancient Egypt as white.
