Haunted Summer

by Joanna Mansell

Rose travels to a remote estate after seeing a notice that the owner is looking for a gardener. After a couple of rather dramatic misunderstandings, including her being mistaken for a reporter and locked in the cellar, Rose gets acquainted with Nathan, the owner who is a famous but disaffected songwriter trying to get over a professional and personal break-up. He drinks too much, has insomnia, is distant and rude - but is willing to take her on to manage his garden. Over time they forge a bond and the friendship turns to romance. Problems emerge though when Jancis, the singer he used to be with, returns and tries to pick up the pieces.
