Five Lessons
Ben Hogan's classic golf instruction book, whose full title is Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf. One of the greatest ball-strikers in the game breaks the swing into a handful of fundamentals - the grip, stance and posture, and the two parts of the swing - illustrated throughout with detailed drawings by Anthony Ravielli. It first appeared in the late 1950s and is still handed to new golfers decades later. Not a novel, but a concise, opinionated primer that many golfers treat almost as scripture.
