Earth's Changing Surface The Rock Cycle
Earth's surface changes because of forces such as gravity, wind, water, and ice. Weathering breaks down rocks in different ways. Soil contains weathered rocks, air, water, and humus. Rocks are grouped based on how they form. The three groups of rocks are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Over time, rocks can change from one type to another.
