The Terror
The novel follows the crew of the HMS Terror, who set out to find the Northwest Passage. A monstrous predator lurks beneath the Arctic ice, and after the expedition leader Sir John Franklin is killed, Captain Francis Crozier assumes command and leads the remaining men on a desperate southward escape across the ice. With winter, scurvy, and starvation looming, the crew confronts a terror that may be the other men themselves.
