The year was 1985, AIDS was a new disease, highly publicized and very much feared in the small community of Carmel, Califonia. Ben was the first AIDS patient at Stanford Medical Center where he was taken care of during the next 14 months. Written through the eyes of Ben's mother, Chris, this book tenderly shows the lessons the Oylers learned as they said goodbye to their son and oldest brother of four.
