The Pages of Saint John
Martin and Claudio were born in different parts of the world to vastly different cultures, but their lives converge at eight years old. They're brought together unexpectedly by circumstances, and bonded by the love of Pope John XXIII in his final years of life. After his death, each boy struggled through life, miserable and held back to society's expectations. They collide every few years, with each attacking the other or seeking revenge.This historical fiction story speaks to a common experience of a children wanting to please a parent, but only disappointing them. And it's about trying to find one's own identity. The main characters seek to be happy in their own way, and not as others see fit.
