A Thing of Beauty
Thirteen-year-old Corey Bright’s world has been rocked and changed forever as she leaves Winnipeg, Canada for her new life in the States. Having been raised in a proper, constrained environment, she leaves behind her bestie Winny, a Cree whose visions align with hers. Little does Corey realize how prphetic and earth shattering these visions will prove as her new life in America unfolds. On her first day of middle school in Lissing Valley, Corey befriends Zoe Gonzalez with whom she forms a profound, enduring bond. Their amiable encounter is enhanced as they discover to have experienced similar dreams; dreams which are a harbinger of trials and tribulations which they and the world face. For Winny’s version had not been Cree folklore easily dismissed. Mother Nature was about to demonstrate her great displeasure concerning the way in which she had been mistreated. For the next three years, Corey and Zoe’s friendship is strengthened, forged, and defined by circumstances which throw Lissing Valley, and the entire world, into a battle ground where humanity’s fate will be determined.
