With two years experience behind him, James Herriot still feels privileged working on the beautiful Yorkshire moors as assistant vet at the Darrowby practice. It's not all chasing livestock around fields, though – James is also kept busy judging the Family Pets contest at the Darrowby village show (discovering its hidden cut-throat politics), and attempting to calve a cow whilst drunk (on a farm full of strict Methodists).
