Kytice

by Karel Jaromír Erben

Erben's Kytice , together with May and The Grandmother , is regarded as one of the three foundation texts of the modern Czech literary cannon. The collection inspired Dvořák to write four of his most famous works, the symphonic tone peoms The Water-globlin , The Noonday Witch , The Golden Spinning-wheel and The Wild Dove . The collection has also inspired countless other musical compositions, artworks, TV and movie adaptations.
