Meditations

by Gregory Hays

The Meditations of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius (121–180 CE) draw on Stoic philosophy to find ways of dealing with adversity and remaining a good person in a vain and deceitful world. This translation was made by the classical scholar George Long in 1862. Slightly off-mint.
