Simon Macquarie takes one look at Martha Winters at an event in Sydney where she’s serving drinks and decides she’s no better than she should be. Martha amuses herself by playing along with his misguided opinion of her but the two start to develop a rapport that confuses them, until he leaves to return to England. Three years later, when she moves to London and gets a job as a model, Martha is shocked to run into Simon again. Their prickly relationship starts up again, as they both try to avoid being caught by love.
