After a dangerous humanitarian mission, Ginny returns to New York and questions her purpose. She encounters a cold, hungry twelve‑year‑old boy, gives him a meal, and lets him stay while she seeks shelter for him. Their evolving bond exposes the boy’s trauma and gives Ginny a new motivation to pursue justice, while the story tackles contemporary difficult issues.
