Odds and Gods
While the gods are in retirement, one of the next generation plots a takeover of the world in this humorous British novel. This is a comedy set in the Sunnyvoyde Residential Home for retired deities. Wagner got it wrong. The Twilight of the Gods isn't really that cataclysmic. After all, there's a comfy chair, a welcoming fire and three meals a day. But everlasting life can be a real drag when all you've got to look forward to is cauliflower cheese on Wednesdays.
