What's new in club chat
A handful of small upgrades to the place your club talks between meetings.
The club conversation is where a lot happens between meetings: picking the next book, figuring out the date, reacting to that one chapter. So this week we spent our time making that space smoother. None of it is flashy. It is the small stuff that makes a club feel like it runs itself. Here is what changed, all live now.
Take back a vote. Changed your mind about the next book? Tap your vote again to undo it. No asking anyone to reset anything.
Give a vote a deadline. Organizers can now set when a book vote closes. When the time is up, the vote freezes, the winner is shown, and the organizer confirms it with one tap. No more wondering three days later whether the poll is still open.
Calmer notifications. Club chat used to nudge you for every message. Now it waits for the conversation to settle and sends one summary instead, something like "3 new in Planning." One nudge, not twenty, and you still see everything when you open it.
Mention a pal. Want to be sure someone catches a message? Type their name with an @ and they get a nudge, and the message stands out for them in the thread. Handy for "@Sam this is the one I meant."
Say where you are without leaving the chat. ChapterPals hides anything past the point you have read, so nobody spoils the ending. Now you can tell it how far along you are right from inside the thread, and the shield keeps up with you without a trip to another screen.
A Discord button for clubs that use one. Some clubs keep a Discord going alongside their in-person meetings. An organizer can drop the invite in, and everyone gets a Join button.
That is the batch. Small things, but they add up to a club chat that gets out of your way and lets the reading (and the arguing about the reading) happen. More soon.
